Black Gun Sister

There have been reports that large-scale cheating was used to support Misaka. This is the apparent reason for the new forbidden messages from the code generator. All non-Japanese IPs have been banned. A large number of Japanese IPs were banned, cutting Misaka's vote total nearly in half. Unfortunately, these restrictions will most likely last for the rest of this tournament, since the presence of such significant cheating justifies the organizers' aggressive stance.

There is a report indicating that a group of cheaters based in China are responsible for the scandal. Google translate provided a shocking narrative. In the cheater's own words, "I do not say anything, you black black gun sister". One of the replies: "Insert bad touch tiger ...", a suggestive reference to the ringleader's intimidating moniker, Bad Tiger. He countered shamelessly with "Sister the money shot here is a basic". This is going to make one hell of a movie.

Luckily, a real translator was around to enlighten us about the Black Gun Sister scandal (Gun Sister being a literal translation of Misaka's nickname). The leader of the cheating group admits to having supported Misaka against Homura and Victorique, and to have helped Saten into the finals last year. The saimoe organizers banned a slew of Japanese IPs used to multi-vote for Misaka, as well as 150 IPs used to support Tenshi against Mugi. The cheaters used two methods: paying for servers in IP ranges that could get codes, and exploiting a bug in the code generator. The bug was fixed earlier this year.

You may remember last year's revelation that someone bought a large number of pre-paid cellphones (or at least SIM cards) to multi-vote for Nagi against Koromo. These scandals, involving cold hard cash, conspiracies, and detective-thriller level intrigue prove that Saimoe really is serious fucking business.

Edit: The post at this link covers a similar cheating event at Best Moe, and claims that the pattern of cheating uncovered in Best Moe is similar to patterns seen in Saimoe.
