2012 Round 1 D

The fake voting has gone absolutely berserk. Take a look at the graph:
Somebody seems to be pretty worked up about Louise. This is the most ridiculous case of fake voting I've seen, and it'll be fun to watch it play out.
Kuristina defeated Captain with the highest vote total in the tournament so far, 439-364. This is pretty surprising, since Kurisu came in 6th in preliminary group 13 with 221, trailing three Saki characters, including Kokaji (232), Momo (281), and Kirame (292). TOSHINOU KYOUKO, who only mustered 366 votes in her loss, had 341 in her preliminary match. What's more, the other cute Steins;Gate girl, Mayushii, got killed two days ago, scoring only 148 against two opponents who failed to break 200.

It looks like an anti-Saki backlash has materialized, and they're strong indeed. The power balance of the tournament has changed.

The breakdown table showing votes by region, from an anonymous source:
Reports also indicate that the Chihaya-Kurisu-Louise combo vote happened 160 times, while no other combination happened more than 85 times. It's expected for the winners to lead here, but that's a huge margin.

However, Kurisu's win was by 75 votes, which is much more than the suspicious difference in region G. Other proposed factors have been tactical voting by Louise and Chihaya fans, the Asami Imai (VA of Chihaya and Kurisu) combination, the backlash against Saki's domination, and a desire by Saki fans to avoid further backlash by downplaying characters with low screen time. All this on a day that featured insane levels of fake voting, perfect to disguise shenanigans.

Karuta performed below expectations. That's not a good sign for Ririchiyo, who's supposed to be one of the more dangerous characters out there.
