Group D Predictions and Results

Predictions for Group D:
8/29: Nero, Shiro, Last Order
8/30: Manami, MISAKA #10032, Stocking
8/31: Ritos, Isana, Zenigata
9/1: Ika Musume, Nao, Yuno

8/29 Coverage:
Nero and Shiro are first preliminary characters against second preliminary ones, and Last Order is easily the strongest of the day.

Prediction Record: 3/3, 24/36

8/30 Coverage:
Stocking is weak, but her opponents are weaker. 10032 is fairly powerful. Today's contested match will be between Maekawa and Manami. This will be a good test of two powerful new factions, and this match could go either way depending on which faction mobilizes its forces in these low volume groups. Since I have to make a prediction, it'll be Manami, the inoffensive girl who could collect votes from both Kirino and Kuroneko fans, while Denpa Onna's strength is more focused on Erio as an individual.

Update: The tracker is up at 07:00, and surprisingly, all three matches are contested. Yui is right behind 10032, and Asuka actually has a moderate lead over Stocking. Maekawa is trailing Manami by a handful of votes.

Final results: Maekawa narrowly beat Manami despite trailing all day and having more fake votes. Yui pulled ahead with a strong last minute rush, while 10032 had more fakes. Their match had the most votes of the day, 541 compared to 516 for Maekawa/Manami and 471 for Stocking's, so tactical voting against Index may finally be in play. Stocking also had a powerful ending rush to secure a win. These results are very promising for Erio, a red flag for Kirino and Kuroneko, and a serious embarrassment for Index. How is Biribiri supposed to survive if her clones are getting slaughtered?

Prediction Record: 1/3, 25/39

8/31 Coverage:
An assortment of weak characters. Evangeline was once mighty, but outlived her support. Natsuru made it through the first prelims, but will be shot down due to gender issues. After that, the predictions are based simply on preliminary performance: Ritos, Isana, and Zenigata.

Final Results: Isana and Zenigata lead throughout the day. Ritos trailed for the first half, but came back with a sharp spike of votes after 1200 and sealed the deal with a savage rush (which Isana also participated in). Although the mid-day spike might have looked fake, vote volumes were so low that only a few people coordinating with friends could have produced it.

Prediction Record: 3/3, 28/42 Total

9/1 Coverage:
September kicks off with a long-awaited match featuring a couple big names. In the blue corner, Ika Musume, terror of the deeps. In the black corner, Mio Akiyama, who is terrified of creatures from the deeps. In this black-and-blue themed match, Mio will be invaded. Lynette Bishop of the Strike Witches will seek to make this a three way match, and that might even happen, but the only competition will be for second place.

The other two matches feature a swarm of Index characters. 10032's shocking defeat suggests that Index and its army of 18 has worn out its welcome. The longtime poster girl for moe, Yuno of Hidamari Sketch, has the advantage against a split vote, and Nao of Onii-chan had the best preliminary performance of her group.

Final Results: Ika wins in a landslide, as Mio's mountain of votes shatters and falls into the sea upon the release of the code list. That's an amazing amount of fakes, and they were deployed in a very convincing manner. We're dealing with professionals here. The other two matches had no surprises.

Prediction Record: 3/3, 31/45 Total
